American Airlines and Afterward — Nicholas Bredimus
Taken note yet of how computerization has thoroughly changed the face of hospitality and air travel in the past years? Behind all of this is New Jersey’s favorite son Mr Nicholas Bredimus. This resourceful man has been involved in a number of areas, from the high value home design market through a study of air safety and software programs to save time and resources.
His family tree reveals all you might need to know concerning the source of his talents and how much he has achieved. Drawn together from many nationalities, his clan traces to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s side originating out of Germany and Scotland. The paternal line, by contrast, were born in present day Luxembourg and England, from where his forebears eventually migrated in the late nineteenth century.
Naturally, following their arrival in America, the family kept its drive and zeal to survive and thrive. Nicholas, who would grow up with his six siblings, was born to a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a practicing nurse. His residences over the course of several years were spread across several states.
Once his schooling had been completed, he engaged in several high powered jobs for some of the most acclaimed and strongest airlines. Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA) — all three would at various times respectively name him vice president. An inventive software designer, his designs for airline computer programs are probably his best regarded legacy.
His creation of airplane maintenance software, typical now throughout the air travel sector though first coded for one specific company, ultimately resulted in what is surely his most used achievement. He would look next at making and recording reservations. For both hotels and air travel he pioneered software systems to handle the majority of the work necessary before this approach. He also produced a piece of software tagged QuikTix, an electronic ticket ordering network.
Mr Nicholas Bredimus has even served in a number of posts unconnected to software development, don’t forget. In his own company — Bredimus Systems — as a divisional manager with American Express, and as the first president of a new American Airlines division his track record speaks for itself.
You ask if he is still active? Of course — his prowess is still very much ready to answer the call no matter his having left prior interests behind. Look for his work now at the forefront of building design — mixing the needs of superior quality with up-to-date technology and honest environmental interests.
