When decorating the interior of a home, the windows are the focal point of the room. With the right window coverings, the room can glow with a deep bronze or flame with a beautiful red. The power of a great set of curtains far outweighs the hassle of cleaning a set of blinds.

Much of the blind market is created from plastic or wood blinds that hold onto dust and dirt like a magnet. Cleaning these blinds is not only tedious, but can take far more time than throwing a set of curtains into the wash and pressing them for a fresh, clean look in the room.

Blinds also require a substantial amount of constructive ability as the hardware needs to be installed into a stud in the wall in order to hold the blind assembly. Curtains can be hung in a variety of ways with many requiring no stud or difficult hardware assembly.

Changing the look of a room is far easier with curtains than it is with blinds. Removal of the curtain rod, slipping off the old curtain and slipping on the new curtain is all that is required to completely give a room a new and brighter look. Blinds, on the other hand, require matching the width and hardware assembly from the old unit with the new unit in order to change up the look.
